This assemblage, “Passageway To The Magic Place†is indicative of the messages in my 2008 body of work titled “Dumpster Dreamsâ€. The images speak about the diverse parts of life, the outrageous and colorful outer aspects contrasted with the vulnerable, softer places hidden inside. Painted images of Wisteria and Parsley flowers are combined on discarded wood furniture patterns found in a furniture factory dumpster near my home. Here a union is formed between delicate images of living organisms and discarded bits of the ever evolving and dwindling American furniture industry.
