The Pistoians love strolling through the piazzas in the evening, chatting with friends and family. The city is transformed into an open air market on Wednesdays and Saturdays bustling with fruit and vegetable stands, lovely shoes at the shoe market and handmade jewelry. Some of the small side streets like via Taverna still show brick work from the era when the town was a northern Roman outpost.
